Thanks for the write-up.
Do you have to do the workaround where you "kill" the mail process everytime your phone connects? Emails work for me in ios6 and now ios7, but only if I wait for bluetooth to connect, kill mail process, and lock phone each time. It's second nature now, but annoying.
