I do not have to kill my Mail or Message apps for the message envelopes to appear on iDrive. I do have a habit of rebooting my phone every few days....usually when I'm horribly bored during a meeting and even pulling out my nose hairs one at a time has lost its appeal.
Rebooting involves holding down the front button and the top button at the same time, and continuously, until the Apple icon reappears.
