I occasionally drive her car and when I accelerate I don't really feel it tugging or veering too much.
It is a safe car, has a comfortable ride (even with the runflat tires) and she really enjoys driving it.
If you check the BMWUSA site and do a search for used 228i GC's currently you will find them.
