...I gotta say, in the last year, I have only seen 2, E60 M5's and maybe 10 other various E60 models, with a full manual transmission. Albeit That's only 1 shop in all of FL though. I hate to say it, but I think the majority of BMW's purchasing market, would rather not drive the car, the way they need to be driven. (sometimes, at least, lol) They want the cool factor, w/o the effort needed for the drive. The SMG is the bane of my existence, funny.... I thought it was fantastic when they first unveiled it.
