The process for me was pretty quick. The dealer set me up with a stage 12 production car. I think that meant it was a car they already had on order but the final configuration hadn't been set. So I was able to order any options / color I wanted. I think the next stage is when the order is locked and nothing can be changed. That was when I got my production number.
Sept 10th - Started the process (first contact with dealer)
Sept 13th - Pre-approved Financing Paperwork / Deal / Ordered the Car / Small Downpayment
Sept 19th - Received ED date / Confirmation from BMW NA
Sept 26th - Received ED Packaged & Books from BMW NA
Oct 15nd - Signed the Deal / Dealer checked ED Paperwork / Passport / Current Insurance / Paid rest of Down payment
Nov 2nd - Picked up the Car at the Welt
Nov 5th - Dropped off the car at the Airport
Nov 11th - Loaded on Ship
Nov 15th - BMW Paid 2nd Months Payment
Upcoming...
Dec 13th - Due to Arrive in Port
Dec 15th - 3rd Payment Due
???? - Pick up at Dealer (Guessing first week of Jan)
