So after reading through this entire thread, I decided to do the grill swap on my 2014. I opted to try the straight forward removal, without involving the screws and rubber piece. Left my car parked in the sun all morning. Then I taped up the grill opening to protect it, in case of any mishap. I'm glad I did this because while removing the first grill, I snapped back and hit just above the opening.

I sat down in front of the car to try this. I didn't want to kneel down or squat (catcher style) thinking I may fall back on my gluteous. I grasped the grill and pulled it straight out firmly. It came right out. So I figured I got lucky and the other side was going to be a PITA, but no. It came out just as easily. Total time to complete the swap, maybe 10 minutes if that.

Here's how I grabbed the grill to pull straight out. Demonstrating on one that's already out.

Original factory grill had a rubber seal. New grill, which is also OEM, does not have it.
