I would say about 3mm thick but I can't recall the diameter size. I picked up a few sizes and just used the one that fit best since they werent expensive.
Don't use double sides tape on the coils. It won't hold the constant pressure. Get some heavy duty plastic zip ties to attach the hose around the spring.
