As I've posted on the G30 forums, I'm seriously thinking petrol next.
Why?

London - diesels not complying with EU6 to be charged everyday
general war on diesels that seems to be getting larger as time goes on.
Government years back stated that they wanted to reduce CO2 emissions and taxed cars accordingly, many people bought diesels as a result.
I can easily seeing that reverse now with tax on diesels going up substantially.
Ignoring all of the above, as regards the G30 I'd like the 530d . (I have a 530d now)
However if I take the above into account, I think going for the 540i makes sense so when I get round to buying the next 5, I will go a test drive on a 540i and see what it is like.
You also have to bear in mind that if you do purchase diesel, future rules introduced may make them unattractive and that will affect resale values.
Just my thoughts .
Summary, probably petrol next time.
