As you mentioned, the D1S bulb functions as a high/low HID xenon bulb, meaning your low beam is your high beam as well. The inner bulb (which would be the high beam on halogen setups) functions as cornering lights on an F10 with xenon headlamps. Whenever you reverese or do tight cornering the inner bulb lights up and gives you extra illumination towards the corner you are shifting/turning.
The bulbs for the cornering light are 55 watt H7 halogen bulbs and has ugly halogen yellow color if left stock. I switched it to an H7 halogen bulb but with a white/blue tint, 5000k color temp to be precise and it now matches the 5000k D1S low beam very nicely. |
