I had a 2015 535d x-drive that was a huge disappointment. There was a rattle or clatter that would appear at various places in the rev range making the engine horribly unrefined and extremely annoying to drive. I thought it was a diesel knock problem. The two BMW corporate engineers that drove the car suspected an internal bearing problem. Either way, BMW replaced the car after 4 months with a brand new one, my choice.
I took delivery of my 535i rwd sedan about a month ago and the difference in refinement and handling/nimbleness is nothing short of remarkable. The new car is truly a world class sedan, and I am absolutely thrilled with it. Anyone contemplating an individual leather interior should know that it totally transforms the car into a completely different league... so much so that I will never order another BMW without it.
Julesandtrish: I couldn't agree more about the run flats. Mine are coming of sooner rather than later.
