I think that he is thinking about the crippled comforts seats where the side bolsters aren't adjustable anymore. This is true for US versions but not for EU and maybe the rest of the world.
I have no clue why BMW made the decision to remove the adjustable side bolsters and just imagine how surprised former E60 owners must be when they find out.
