Here's my opinion which is only based on one experience and talking to others. I used a Meguiars cleaner for a year + and three of my four center caps started emitting some kind of "gum". I assume it was a glue. Since it was three of four I can only assume it was the wheel cleaner that did it. There was never any affect on the wheel finish that I could see. When I saw the affect on the caps, I stopped and went back to good old fashioned soap. I have discussed this subject with many others and the consensus seems to be "if it is strong enough to eat off brake dust, it has got to be doing collateral damage elsewhere with prolonged use". I'm sure the various manufactures will say oh no we have that figured out with our product. Not sure I would buy that argument. Just my .02 cents.
