I lived in Europe before. There was an E60 LCI 540i model with a V8 naturally aspirated, 225kW (306 HP). Engine N62 TU. I liked how natural that engine was.
At speeds of 100 mph+, it was a monster. It seemed like there's no limit.
But it didn't have enough low end torque for city driving. In low speed accelerations it felt sluggish compared to a 150kW E46 diesel.

There was never an E60 LCI 540i. What you are reffering to was the E39 LCI 540i. The E60 debuted with 545i and then had an LCI 550i.
But I know the E39 540i, I drove it. What a car
