Step3 - The orange/red button on the actual door motor housing allows the homelink mirror to synchronize with it's rolling code.

2. Hold the button you want to program. At the same time, hold the remote button for 2 seconds, then release and repeat a few times (the remote, not the mirror) while constantly holding the mirror button, the light should change from slow flashing to rapid flashing in about 5-10 seconds. The mirror and the remote are now duplicates, but the mirror is not linked to the mirror yet.
3. On the garage door opener unit, there is a program or teach button (usually an orange square button), press it, a light near the button will come on.
4. Press and release the mirror button you just programmed repeatedly until the garage door responds.
Good luck, the old style non-rolling code openers were much easier.
