BMW already sells one of "Ward's 10 Best Engines" in North America: it's called the 3.0L twin turbo diesel with 265hp and 425 ft.lbs. of torque - the world's most powerful diesel available for a sedan (335d) or SUV (X5).
It is also an extremely economical and powerful engine.
As for the AdBlue component, this is a silent partner with no noticeable effect on day to to day running. The top-up of the AdBlue tank is included with the BMW scheduled maintenance for 4 years.
