I only count 4 pages on the UK sub forum and the individual threads are not numbered, so other than resorting to a search, I can't find the article you're referring to. Perhaps you could copy and post the URL link as I did in my earlier post?
As to whether or not DAB can be retro-enabled, your dealer would probably be best placed to give you a definitive answer. However, on referring to Real OEM:
http://realoem.com/bmw/select.do, it would appear that there might be different part numbers for the roof antenna and car infotainment computer, dependent on whether or not it has a DAB tuner.
