For what it's worth, when consulting with the various shops, a couple of them tried steering me towards opting for a chip tune instead, given that the chip tunes actually provide performance gains by increasing HP. But, when I cited that I didn't want to risk a warranty void and all I really wanted was to address the feel of the responsiveness, they agreed the throttle mapper was the route to go due to the fact that it doesn't alter any performance specifications like a chip tune.

Therefore, while I haven't found any explicit confirmation that these throttle mappers can't be detected (whereas chip tunes can still be detected when removed), I can only infer from my discussions with the pros and my understanding of how the throttle mappers work that there shouldn't be any downside. If there was any way to log, or track, activity from the ECU, it should simply show as if you're driving with a heavy foot, since it's not really adding any power.
