Just a thought. I note that in the BMW technical material there is a specific braking reference to pedal "response travel". Do you use that braking feature to ensure maximum energy recuperation through full regenerative braking, rather than heavy braking which obviously also activates the hydraulic braking system?
After all, that is the key way you charge the battery "for free".
