If you are sure the pads are only 40% worn, (including the inner pads), resetting the CBS for the brakes is a common thing to do. Garage did it for me, (due to rear wear rate dropping far too fast), after checking physical pad wear at one of my service visits.
Can be done through the service menu, if you want to do it yourself.
