Yes two different engines, both 3-litre capacity.
530i has the N53 in the UK, it has direct injection, double vanos but no valvetronic.
535i comes with the N55 engine, direct injection, double vanos, valvetronic and a twinscroll turbo.
The N55 has a good spread of power and torque, makes for a very good delivery. I love mine, even coming from a 330 diesel, where torque is always on tap.
