Finally putting it to rest

Hi Everyone,

Thanks to forum member utmiken for his M5 rims, we should be able to answer the question of whether 20" M5 rims and stock Michelin PSS 265/35 and 295/30 will be plug-and-play on a 528.

My car's info:
  • 2012 528i Non-Msport
  • Stock with no modifications
M5 wheels:
  • 2012 M5 20"
  • Michelin PSS 265/35 front and 295/30 rear
Verdict (FRONT):
  • Works!
  • No rubbing
  • No spacers needed
  • Tire is flush with fenders
Verdict (REAR):
  • Works and looks very aggressive!
  • Some rubbing under full load and medium to large bumps
  • Nearly flush (a few millimeters of protrusion)
  • Recommend 275 or 285 after 295 is worn
Additional insights (compared to 18" stock sport package rims/tires):
  • Ride quality: Same or better
  • Cabin noise: Same (cabin is still very quiet)
  • Steering: Seems more responsive with forged wheels
  • This somehow CURED my pulling to the right issue!!!
  • Brakes: Squeel on first few minutes of driving but goes away (didn't have this problem before but it's not a big deal)
  • Looks phenomenal, highly recommend the switch, changes the stance and personality of the car
Hope this helps future M5 wannabes
Appreciate 1
