I think maybe if you are doing a lot of kilometres then possibly the 535d is the way to go. in fact the numbers of km is not a factor which influence me.
Even I do just 13000km per year (maybe a bit less) and you say me that the 535d gives me more sensation than 535i,then i take the 535d.
And even if i do more than 30000km per year and you say me that 535i gives me more sensation than 535d,then i take the 535i.
Honestly, i do between 12000km and 14000km per year with my car, i use it only in Week end and when i go to hollyday (i go generally to Spain, Itally, Netherland and Germany) the other time i take my wife's car.
