I too have had this issue for a while. First used an Apple Iphone 6 without issue. (At least not that I noticed) Switched to Samsung S7. On bluetooth (audio and tel) it almost always resets after 20 minutes. As I normally only drive about 30 minutes i'm not sure if it would happen again after the next 20 mins.
The dealer found no errors and reloaded the cars software. Problem still the same.
I have tried many variations, it seems its the Bluetooth Telephone that is giving the problem. On audio bluetooth it doesn't switch off.
BMW dealer says only option is to replace the idrive system! About EUR1600.
For now i'm not using the blutooth and hoping for an update or a cheaper solution...
