I took my 2012 535i X drive (non M-sport) to the shop to get a front M5 sway bar and a rear 550d sway bar installed.
The rear bar was a perfect fit.
The mechanic tried to fit the front bar, but said the brushing wouldn't fit properly because it didn't sit flush against the frame of the car (I think its the frame that the brushing is screwed into??)
He pointed out that the brushing so too close to curved portion of the bar. Does that matter?
Could he just of shifted the brushing?
I tried to search the forum, but it appears all the 535's with M5 bars installed are M Sports, so I'm wondering if there are any non Msport owners who have successfully installed the bar.
