Does the Netherlands have some sort of emissions tax? I'm sure you'll see some savings there.
It would also be a great cruiser and much more fuel efficient than a gas/petrol equivalent car. Don't forget about that.
Sporty diesels are relatively new to the market. For the M division to even seriously consider a diesel there has to be all sorts of wizardry involved which translates to high costs.
