Curious -how could you tell? Also, I never seem to hear much about the 525d. Seems like most people get the 520d- why is that? Is the price increase or extra taxes prohibitive? |
He could tell first of all because the OP posted that it was a 520d a couple of posts before your post
And, in Norway the DOT/DMV has a App that gives you the tech spec of the car if you enter the license plate number. Same service on their web pages as well. Both are 100% free. So fairly easy to look up
If you want to know who's the owner, you have to pay a small text message fee.
In theory you can also tell if it's a small engine version by looking at the front brakes/brake caliper. But that only tells you that it could be a 518d, 520d or 520i, 523i.
