You did yourself a favor by posting the problem on here. I have never heard of carbon buildup occurring on an N63. It was a problem on the N54s, but that does not mean anything for our cars. BMW knew of the carbon buildup solution at the time of the design of the N63 and N55, hence why you never hear of it.
Take the advice from the guys on here that have experienced the same problem with the same equipment, including the advice of being weary of the shop you've been going to. Like many have said, if the shop isn't pulling the faults stored in the car's computers, then they don't know what they're doing.
