I don't believe that's quite accurate.
Dinan parts used to be covered under BMW's warranty. They are now covered by Dinan's warranty (which matches BMW's). So it's possible that BMW and Dinan will point at each other to cover a problem that each thinks was caused by the other. But, as long as you've had the Dinan bits installed by a BMW dealer, you should be able to count on the dealer to run interference between BMW and Dinan to make sure you're covered.
