I decided to go with the 535dx because it was more like the classic BMW with hydraulic steering. I wish there was an F11 in the states.

Just because the steering is lighter doesn't mean it is electric. I drove a 528 X Drive for an afternoon (colleague's loaner) and the steering was significantly lighter than in my car, yet they both have hydraulic assist.
