Getting custom downpipes is a risky move.
As you mentioned you have the $250 + labor
Not to mention how hard it will be getting it 100% correct with the first part they manufacture. Any small mistake will result in drone, leak, gas smell inside the cabin, etc...

You should also make sure that the shop is using stainless steel pipes that can withhold the heat and pressure or else the results might be catastrophic. |
It looks like I misunderstood the guy. He didn't build an entire downpipe but just a 3" connector I believe he said.
Thing sounds deeper, and pulls harder. Throttle response is real sensitive too. No gas smells or anything. Exhaust sounds crack and pop more.
