Todays manufacturing processes are near bullet-proof, but ELFs do occur .... hence why a road test is included in the PDI. If your problem had occured after a few hundred miles fair enough, but its obvious it was sitting there waiting for you to find on the journey home ....

Thanks for that, I'd always wondered how they manage to rack up so many miles just by shunting the car around on and off transport. Had 12 miles on it when I collected it.

So, they either didn't do a road test, did one but chose to ignore the issue or did one and didn't notice the issue (highly unlikely!).
