I've got model cars for all the 2000-era Bimmers. I was looking at the previous E65 compared to the F01, and yes the overhang is reaching MB territory. I thought shorter overhang was good for handling too? From what I understood, shorter overhang meant longer wheelbase in shorter car, and better handling..

I looked at pictures for the F10, and I can't see what you mean by the skinny front though.
