I am currently running this setup (255 all around on stock rims 350m 18") for winter, and it works and looks great. The stock tires were Continental3 RFT 245-275 but I got rid of them. I have 20mm Macht Schnell black spacers with the rears because the OEM rear offset 44 was something.. I just couldn't look at it.

What is important with the square setup, is that you can rotate tires. Even with the xDrive, BMW transmission deilvers 60% of torque to the rears so wear is higher there.

Aesthetically the 255 fits perfectly the 9" rim and a bit meaty for the 8" one. The 275 is a bit donut on the 9" rim (fits the 9.5" best).

So if you go for a simple and practical setup, both 255-255 and 255-275 are OK.
