Having lived in NE OH, I would rec. going AS. Trying to time winter is always a gamble. I've been unexpectedly caught (a few times) with summers in winter-like conditions.
I recently purchased Conti DWS 06 AS tires, and am impressed. Not as hard as expected (considering they are 20s). Very comfortable on long drives. No noticeable tire noise. Great treadwear rating. If I were back in OH, I would likely purchase these instead of dedicated summers. For OH winters, I ran a dedicated set with Mich X-Ice.
