As far as I know, you still cannot buy the inserts alone so be careful if you wish to proceed.
I used a product called "Liftoff". The bottle has a bit of a nozzle and I did what I could to get it behind the insert. I tried not to use much because I didn't want it going into the handle or door. I took the first one off without any chemicals but the others were easier with the adhesive remover.
As an update, it still looks great. The adhesive I used is good. No regrets. Again, be careful until someone offers replacements.
