To me that is still a lot. For that much I'd rather buy a cheap set of stock wheels and tires (can be found for less than $400 w/tires - look on craigslist, offerup, letgo, etc) and just keep my car for those days they are painting my wheels. While their price may not be completely unreasonable, there are ways to make it much more palatable to you. There are many tire shops that will mount/balance tires for less than $100. Removing the tires, and THEN remounting/balancing I can see costing $150, but not for just the mounting/balancing. Then again, I never take the first quote I get, and always shop around.
