Either way, yes you can only change the rubber part of the hose. When you buy it new from BMW, it comes already assembled with the metal pipe as well, but you can take it apart and just use the rubber part. Make sure to keep topping off the electric water pump reservoir until you replace the hose.
Thanks a lot ya I was thinking the same thing because I check my oil religiously every time I drive her. And it's been perfect until yesterday when she drove now it's about an 8th quart down. I hope it's not the turbo return at the bottom of the v leaking
