Isnt it basic mechanics that load distribution would effect how a car drives? What happens if you have all the people on ones side of the boat? It tips over..

Assuming that a car should be perfectly straight with only the driver (=uneven load distribution) is assuming that the car is 'biased' wrt load distribution to drive straightest with only the driver ...
Load distribution, alignment, computer controls, tire pull, bent parts, etc. can all result in a pull. In addition road crown typically causes a "drift" to the right in most cars.

The question here is what is causing the problem??
