Tell your dealer that the owner's handbook most definitely should be delivered with the car - did you not receive the black wallet with warranty info etc? The handbook should be inside.
There's also a software version of the handbook in the iDrive vehicle info section.

My car was reg' on 30.9.10 but i dont know the build date, maybe it was built before they changed the system, ive heard that ???
Yep going back to dealers today to collect handbooks etc the valeters took them out... !
