It currently lets you use the BMW apps (on the iPhone) and BMW are keen to release more apps/ functionality. You can currently run Facebook, Twitter, WikiPedia and post articles from the car. Clever implementation though not very widely used (I guess).
Download the BMW Connected App and have a play with it to get an idea of the feature set available today….
The new version of BMW Connected already has extended functionality related to ECO-Drive data.
If you are going the full house by having Professional Satellite Navigation - I would add this (its only a £100 add-on; better to have it than regret later).
I'm hoping someone soon releases an app for Speed Cameras that can exploit the BMW connectivity…. there is always scope…
