About your complaint, here is my solution:
I would say: since you also have Sports Auto option, you can configure Sport mode.
In this case, when you are driving on a motorway, you can choose "Chasis only" for your sport mode and here you go...You will have tighter steering and chasis and 8th gear as well.
Furthermore, when you need extra power and revs, you can pull the steering lever to left and then you have both engine and chasis at the same time in sport mode.
