You got it, it works like a charm and yes it will get all of your text and emails, not just the ones that came in after the the phone was paired with the car.
Also, with the iPhone, emails and TXT are all stored in the same folder (TXT folder) where with the HTC they are separated like it is suppose to.
I too bough an iPhone 5 just for the integration with BMW and after waiting so long, I decided to try an android. No special software, no special configuration straight out of the box, everything works
