I have followed BMW's recommended oil service intervals in my prior leased E60's, but since I purchased my new F10 550i, I am thinking about breaking up the BMW oil service intervals, and replacing oil/filter on my nickle half thru interval cycles ,( about every 6500-7000 miles).

I plan on keeping this car 100K miles +, and just have never bought off on running oil/filter for anything more than 7500 miles.

I know oil technology has come a long way, wasnt 10 years ago I changed my oil every 3000 miles or so.

But, I also am considering in changing the oil right after break in period, at 1500-2000 miles. Just passed 1500 miles today, think I am going to do this next week. Always used to do this prior cars that I owned.

What are you experts doing?
