Yes. After logging in my car came up (with proper color/wheel configuration).
Username: [email address provided to BMW / also used for Google Maps Send-To-Car]
Password: [password provided to BMW]
I had to re-enter the password (after initially entering username/password the "security question" is your password... again)
The iPhone/iPod Touch PIN is independent of the car - it's only to lock the app. You can disable this (although I wouldn't).
