I am not in my vehicle just now but recall it is not easy to find.
Have you tried the yellow triangle at the left of the map screen and then 'settings for map view' / 'traffic info map'?
there is a write-up on this in the owners manual as well as some guidance in the iDrive / vehicle info selection
