The thing that sold me on the analog display being better than full digital was the cruise control setting. Its so amazing. There are a ring of hidden OLED's around the circumference of the speedometer for every mile per hour. These individual OLED lights up for the specific speed you set. On the F10 the color is amber when you have not yet reached the speed and a green one lights up when you're at it. Having two sets of OLED's for every mile per hour is way over engineered but I love it.

This is exactly the type of engineering I love BMW for. The feature is nearly unless if you have headsup display because the same info is show there and there's no reason to even look at the cluster. But even so... Having a full LCD cluster display the info isn't impressive. 200+ OLED's to serve this minor display function 95% of people won't notice is amazing.

Here's a video of it working in the E90. These were single color LED's. The F10's have both green and amber. Look at the way the light LED's move up from the bottom when the cruise control is turned on. Really shows how many there are
