I say go for it. I'm looking at the 528ix as well. In fact i will probably order it today or tomorrow. I came away from driving the 528 very surprised. I drove it after driving the 535 and while i was expecting it to be not contest i found the 528 to be just as much fun to drive the way i drive (legal mostly). I then have spent the last month trying to convince myself that i need the 6 and haven't been able to. In the end the 528's slightly lower price, better residuals and elimination of the 19's (Yikes!) decided for me.
PS - Our cars will be almost identical (AW, MSport etc.) although i have to order mine cause i really want the HUD.
