Grover, I like the diesel over the petrol. You notice the additional torque. It is less peppy, but at the same time feels more powerful. For around town I find it is a more relaxed drive in the diesel, the power delivery is smoother and engine is never revving much. Besides saving a little on gas, stopping less to fill up is a bonus (especially as winter approaches, and it's fun watching others at the gas station. You just know half of them think I'm accidentally filling my car with diesel. In fact, it has happened a few times that another person filling their car will say "you know that's diesel?"
