Nice to hear you got your ride after such a long wait.
My 550 experienced an 'on & off' type of minor hesitation at lower gears (like 2/3) on the odd times here & there and I took the car in after X'mas to have the dealer checked out. Dealer found no fault & issue on their scanner (also road tested by the shop foreman on a few km test drives) and there is no update to do on the tranny software. Therefore, SA advised me to monitor the situation for a couple of months. I think I will ask for a software update in the Spring 2011 on my summer tires changeover.
Overall, I just finished my break-in period and had been driving the beast very conservatively. Now I am looking forward to let my car show off the power from time to time (in a responsible manner, of course)
The hesitation I experienced was very similar to my old 08 535xi when I first got the car, it was eventually disappeared/fixed with numerous software updates over the course.
