Great advice in my opinion.
While I absolutely love 5 series, I'm almost certain I wouldn't appreciate what it has to offer as much in my 20s. I think 1, 3 and even 4 series are better suited cars for that age group. I do get that this is fairly broad statement and might not apply to all 20 year olds out there.
Also, speaking of generalization (always dangerous and most of the time wrong thing to do), 19 and 20 year olds in M3 and 550??? Yes, I get it, it might just all work fine and well, but cant' help my initial reaction of "Yikes, that's a lot of car at that age."
At the risk of sounding like your (ever so slightly judgmental) but well meaning old(er) uncle
... just make sure you guys are (somewhat) responsible on the road with those.
